Nothing to worry about yet - in average they seem to appear twice or three times a month. In September we had four....

But I think that promised Skyscraper-8x8 is overdue...

A skyscraper 8x8 appeared today! I didn't interfere - just the programmed probabilities.

There are plenty of non-consecutives ready to go so it's just, as JoergWausW said, a question of chance. I could make them slightly more likely - each time a consecutive appears, there's a 10 in 28 chance it's a non-consecutive.

Finally - announced on September 25th - once a month could still be true though, because today's puzzle has number 2 - where did number 1 appear? ;-)

Number 1 was years ago, or I made a mistake with the numbering. I’d have to check which. :)

It’s probabilistic so having to wait just under two months is not that unlikely.

...but how likely is it, that we wait just under two months for two different puzzle types at the same time...? And it's waiting for types I both like - isn't that even more unlikely? I don't mind waiting for Kakuros...

Clearly less likely, but less likely is not the same as unlikely. :)
