Hi Gareth, I was wondering if it would be too complicated to give an average time for completion without using aids.

Do you mean "Average solve time with no or minor aid 11:04"...? (but I don't know what minor aid means for this puzzle)
Interesting, that the global average (including aid) is slower. I had expected it to be faster. But maybe some people might have been interrupted and then used help way later... or they gave up after a long time and finished it using help...

"Minor aid" is defined on the 'show full chart rankings' page like this: "...using no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or used highlighting aids (show repeated digits [except for hitori where this counts as a major aid], show broken inequalities, or show valid/invalid placements [for slitherlink]).
And I don't know why there isn't an average time with no aid at all. Perhaps it's a historical thing - I don't think I've changed this page since before I altered the way the site classified results back in 2012 (!). I'll take a look at the code and if it's trivial to add (which I expect it is) then I'll update the page.
I really meant with no major aids, that is an average for the first column

Hi Penelope,
Oh, okay. In which case that time is already given at the top of this page, as JoergWausW highlighted. Apart from ignoring times over 2 hours, it gives the precise same average as you would get by averaging all the times shown on the ranking page.
I see that the site used to show the solve time without any aids, looking at the code, but I lost this when I implemented the ranking table. I can add it back in.

Okay, I've added back the 'average solve time with no aids' entry. I suspect I removed it before because it was always so similar to the time with minor aids.
I'm obviously not very observant! I hadn't noticed that before...my apologies.

Maartje Daily subscriber Rated puzzle: Easy Completion time: 17:46 Used 'check puzzle' when incorrect
@Joerg it is very often the case that the average time withiut aids is faster than the average time with aids. I assume it is because more experienced players don't use aids (anymore)

Key
A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
