Got stuck two-thirds in. Couldn't find a logical way forward for several minutes. Resorted to "shaving" in the end (try one possible value and see whether it leads to a contradiction). Luckily, the guess was correct. Will have to do it again to see whether I missed something...

Sometimes I get stuck after a lot of time. No further step to be seen. No matter what I do, I get a contradiction. That's my usual fate.
Eventually I hit the "show wrong" button and trace back to figure out where my mistake occured. Last time, it was the fifth cell from the beginning I entered pencil marks and missed only one - the correct digit for that cell.

But sometimes I'm also lucky - I had to backtrack at that Toroidal 290 and fix a mistake. That happened not as early in the puzzle, so I could fix it...

Edit after this one: I ran in some trouble, too, but probably a mistake. Went back a bit a resumed and it worked out.

My guess for you being stuck, winterer: Bottom left area, I think it was an A-1-combination in two cells that I was lucky enough to see pretty quickly...

Tried it again with Auto-Add/Auto-Remove, to speed things up.
Still got stuck at the same spot... No A-1 combination in the lower left that would help.

took me a while...

Here's the clue: where is the 8 in row 5?

Yes, indeed, thanks!
Helps getting rid of an 8 in row 6, and the rest is straightforward...

Went over it so many times, can't believe I haven't seen it earlier.

Incidentally, the cell where I could delete the 8 was the one where I tried the remaining value in my first attempt. Must have been my subconscious that had seen it and made me make the correct guess... :-D

  • A yellow/light blue highlight in the time distribution charts highlights your time, where relevant.
  • Rating scores out of 10.0 show the average difficulty rating chosen by users, where 1.0 is "Easy" and 10.0 is "Hard".
  • If a puzzle is opened more than once, including by loading from a saved position, then this is potentially a significant aid so it is listed as being completed with 'multiple sessions' for the purpose of the best time/average rating displays above.
  • Minor aid is defined as no more than one use of 'Check solution' when incomplete and/or no more than one use of 'Check solution' when wrong; and/or using highlighting aids (show repeated digits, show broken inequalities and show valid/invalid placements [slitherlink] only). Major aid is any and all other use of the solving aids except for 'show wrong'.
